Fort Worth City Council Approves Incentives for $192.7M Harting Connectivity Manufacturing Plant
Fort Worth is actively pursuing a significant industrial investment, with the City Council recently approving a 10-year property tax abatement for Harting Connectivity. The Germany-based manufacturer, which produces components for data centers, semiconductors, and robotics, is considering Fort Worth as the site for its new $192.7 million U.S. headquarters and manufacturing plant. This project is expected to generate 700 jobs.
The incentive package includes a tax abatement that could refund up to 65% of the project's property taxes, valued by city officials at an estimated $6 million. If Fort Worth is selected over two other undisclosed locations, Harting Connectivity would commit $31.1 million to construction costs for buildings at 2101 and 2253 Whitebeam Brook St. and 2800 Gosden Close St. by the end of 2027, with an additional $161.6 million allocated for equipment by the end of 2031. The company also pledged to spend 30% of its construction costs with small businesses.
This move aligns with Fort Worth's broader strategy to attract companies in the semiconductor and technology sectors, following recent investments from Wistron InfoComm Corp. and Adom Industries Inc. For developers and investors, this signifies continued public sector support for large-scale industrial projects and a growing tech manufacturing presence in the region.
