Fort Worth’s Historic Northside District Sees Increased Commercial Investment
Fort Worth's Historic Northside District is undergoing a period of revitalization, marked by new commercial investments and rising property values. This growth is particularly noticeable along North Main Street, situated between the high-profile Stockyards expansion and the Panther Island project.
Developer John Laudenslager, who purchased the S.T. Percy Building at 1426 N. Main St. in 2025, is among those contributing to the area's transformation. The 117-year-old historic structure is being reimagined for new uses. Nearby, the 24,000-square-foot Marine Central building at 1332 N. Main St. has secured its first retail tenants, including Wild Knox Hat Bar, Cultura Markets, and Sol Dias Ice Cream & Paleteria, with leases handled by LanCarte Commercial.
Additionally, award-winning Panther City BBQ is set to occupy the 6,463-square-foot former La Playa Maya restaurant building at 1540 N. Main St. CDC Development is also upgrading the 52,983-square-foot Mercado Building at 1500 N. Main St., a mixed-use property that opened in 2005. These developments signify a collaborative effort to enhance the district's commercial appeal and create a destination for both residents and visitors.
