Meta Housing Corp. Plans 144-Unit Affordable Housing Project on East Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena
Meta Housing Corporation has presented plans to the Pasadena Design Commission for a new six-story affordable housing development at 2000 East Colorado Boulevard. The project proposes 144 apartments, including one market-rate manager's unit, and will provide 64 parking spaces. This 100 percent affordable housing initiative leverages state density bonus incentives to secure concessions from local zoning regulations, facilitating its construction on what is currently a commercial site.
Designed by Studio One Eleven, the building features a contemporary architectural style with flat roofs and a mix of materials such as cement plaster and accent brick. Amenities are planned for the ground level along Colorado Boulevard, with townhome units facing San Marino Avenue. This development is undergoing a preliminary review, with formal approval not yet anticipated. It is one of several projects by Meta Housing in the vicinity, including planned developments at 2155 E. Colorado Boulevard and 1976 E. Colorado Boulevard, highlighting a concentrated effort to expand affordable housing options in Pasadena. Developers can observe the design review process and the application of density bonus rules for similar projects in the area.
