Katy’s Texas Heritage Marketplace Advances with Major Retailer Openings
NewQuest's Texas Heritage Marketplace, a significant 165-acre mixed-use retail development in Katy, Texas, has begun welcoming its first major tenants. The $400 million project, located at the intersection of Katy Freeway and Texas Heritage Parkway, saw Target open its 148,000-square-foot store on October 11, following Lowe's 95,000-square-foot home improvement store, which opened in early September. These anchor tenants are part of a larger plan to deliver 800,000 square feet of retail space upon completion.
Construction is also underway for an additional 101,000 square feet of junior anchor space, set to be delivered in the first quarter of 2027. This phase will include Academy Sports + Outdoors, Burlington, Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods, and Ulta Beauty. The development will also feature Heritage Grove, a five-acre green space surrounded by 35,000 square feet of restaurants and fitness establishments, including EoS Fitness, Escalante’s, Tony C’s, and Aji Izakaya. Freestanding locations for Olive Garden, Chase Bank, and Whataburger are also planned. Houston-based Arch-Con Corp. is managing the general contracting for multi-tenant retail construction. This substantial development provides new shopping and dining opportunities for residents in surrounding communities.
