Gravity Fitness Secures 23,000 SF Retail Lease at Flushing Plaza in Queens
Gravity Fitness has finalized a long-term lease for 23,000 square feet at Flushing Plaza, a prominent two-story office and retail complex situated at 41-61 Kissena Boulevard in Downtown Flushing, Queens. Muss Development, the property owner, confirmed that the athletic club will occupy the entirety of the ground floor. Although the precise lease duration was not made public, the asking rent for the building was previously set at $52 per square foot.
Jason Muss, President of Muss Development, stated that Flushing continues to be a dynamic community offering a diverse array of commercial and retail services. He emphasized that the Gravity Fitness lease demonstrates a strong local demand for accessible health and fitness facilities. Ross Spitalnick handled negotiations on behalf of Muss Development, while Steve Zhu of Compass Commercial represented Gravity Fitness. The new gym is anticipated to commence operations by mid-2027. This significant retail transaction reinforces the ongoing appeal of well-located mixed-use properties within thriving urban centers for businesses catering to local resident needs, indicating sustained investment in community-focused amenities.
