Downtown Tampa’s Pendry Tower Nears Topping Out as Glazing Progresses
Construction is nearing completion on the 38-story Pendry Tampa and Pendry Residences Tampa, a prominent mixed-use hotel and condominium tower in Downtown Tampa. Located along the Tampa Riverwalk at South Ashley Drive and West Whiting Street, the 409-foot-tall structure is being developed by Two Roads Development in partnership with Pendry Hotels & Resorts. Arquitectonica designed the tower, with Adache Group Architects as architect of record and Coastal Construction as general contractor.
The reinforced concrete superstructure is approaching its uppermost floors, marking substantial progress since the previous month. Concurrently, glazing work is advancing rapidly, with blue-filmed glass panels now enclosing approximately the upper 20-story range, trailing the concrete structure by several floors. The exterior of the broad podium, which houses hotel levels and a parking structure, is also seeing significant progress with glazing and stucco finishes.
The development features approximately 200 privately owned Pendry Residences starting on level 15, situated above a 220-key hotel on the lower levels. Residential amenities, including a private rooftop pool, are planned for the tower's upper floors. The hotel will offer meeting spaces, a spa, fitness facilities, and retail options facing the Riverwalk. With 75 percent of the condominium residences reportedly sold, representing over $385 million in sales, the project is scheduled for a topping-out ceremony on October 9 and an expected opening in 2027. This signifies continued robust development activity in Tampa's urban core.
