Construction Begins on Sunrise Hills, a Nearly 4,000-Home Community in Brooksville, Florida
Construction has officially started on Sunrise Hills, a large-scale residential community located in Brooksville, Hernando County, Florida. The expansive project is set to deliver nearly 4,000 homes across 1,100 acres. Key homebuilders involved in the venture include DRB Homes, D.R. Horton, and Lennar.
Metro Development is leading the project, which will feature a 2.5-acre sand-bottom lagoon, miles of walking trails, and various health and wellness amenities. Homes are planned to include pre-installed smart home technology for climate, lighting, and security control. The community's design aims to reflect Brooksville's cultural heritage, incorporating architectural elements like a silo at its entry.
Sunrise Hills is situated at Sunrise Hills Boulevard and Moonlit Path Road. This development signifies a substantial addition to Hernando County's housing inventory, with another Metro Development project, Sandal Key, also planned for the area with over 3,000 homes breaking ground in December. Developers and lenders should note the continued growth and demand for large-scale residential communities in this Florida region.
