Construction Begins on 108-Unit Affordable Housing Project in Mountain View
Construction has officially commenced for La Bella, a significant affordable housing development located at 1020 Terra Bella Avenue in Mountain View, Santa Clara County. Developed by Alta Housing, this 70-foot-tall structure will introduce 108 units of supportive housing across approximately 150,540 square feet. The project, designed by Van Meter Williams Pollack, includes a mix of studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, alongside parking for 92 cars and 110 bicycles.
These residences are deed-restricted to serve households earning between 30% and 60% of the area's median income. La Bella aims to provide critical supportive services for families transitioning out of homelessness, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those utilizing Section 8 project-based vouchers. This marks Alta Housing's fourth affordable housing initiative in Mountain View, underscoring a continued effort to address local housing needs.
The 1.04-acre site, strategically located near Highway 101, benefited from a portion of the property being donated by Public Storage, which plans to develop additional storage structures on its remaining land. This project contributes vital affordable housing stock to the region, offering long-term stability for vulnerable populations.
