National City Investment Group Commences Construction on 120-Unit Workforce Apartment Project
The National City Investment Group has initiated construction on Market View, a new workforce apartment development situated at 303 Highland Avenue in National City, California. This project aims to transform an existing underutilized parking lot adjacent to Manolo Farmers Market. Upon its anticipated completion in the first quarter of 2028, Market View will introduce 120 residential units, offering a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts across three interconnected buildings.
The community is designed to enhance resident experience with various amenities, including shared outdoor spaces, private outdoor areas, a shared rooftop deck, and a ground-floor coworking area. Additional features include a community room, a future guest suite, and a wellness center with an outdoor yoga deck. Key project collaborators include RDC as the architect, R.D. Olson Construction as the general contractor, and McCullough Landscape Architecture for landscape design. This development by a local investment group with strong ties to the South San Diego community signifies a notable addition to the region's housing supply, addressing the demand for workforce housing.
