Glendora Starts Work on 1.6-Mile Multi-Use Trail Linking to Transit
Officials in the San Gabriel Valley have broken ground on a 1.6-mile multi-use path along the San Dimas Wash in Glendora. The route runs between the intersection of Sunflower Avenue and Gladstone Street and the junction of Grand Avenue and Arrow Highway.
Backed by $1.2 million from local, regional, and state funding programs, the project introduces a dedicated active transportation corridor featuring native landscaping, shade elements, and upgraded intersection and mid-block crossings. The work is being coordinated through a partnership involving the City of Glendora and the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments.
This initial segment represents the first phase of a broader master plan outlining more than 10 miles of connected urban trails. The future network is designed to link the Metro A Line's Glendora Station to surrounding neighborhoods, Citrus College, and Glendora Village. The overall system is estimated to cost $36.6 million, with $21.7 million in funding already secured.
For local developers and property owners, the expanding trail system strengthens non-vehicular connectivity to regional light rail, bolstering accessibility for transit-adjacent residential and commercial projects.
